Elite Equipment builds state-of-the-art horse arenas. They wanted to make an impact on the sluggish arena-drag market with a better surface-leveling tool. Starting from scratch, the team needed concept-to-market development and aimed to adapt proven ideas from farming implements without simply duplicating competitors’ products.
Finite Engineering visited the site, worked to understand specific requirements, and designed from first principles, leveraging multi-industry experience. The result was an arena drag featuring a walking-beam axle and trailer-leveling system — an industry first — supported by SOLIDWORKS® modeling and simulation. MOW Equipment Solutions builds maintenance-of-way equipment for the freight industry. When their customer requested a stationary de-icer to remove snow and ice from quarter-mile rail sticks before they entered a Canadian welding plant, MOW partnered with Finite Engineering for rapid product development engineering support.

A Versatile, Customized Solution for the Food Processing Industry
Lenexa Manufacturing Company (LMC), a family-owned baking-equipment firm, helps bakeries automate slicing and bagging at speeds approaching one loaf per second. LMC needed a replacement lever arm in both right- and left-hand versions, but only had a 3-D scan.
Finite hand-measured the complex steel part and built a feature-driven SOLIDWORKS® model and drawing package. By designing one casting that could be machined for either hand, the team reduced casting costs, avoided schedule delays, and enabled on-budget manufacturing with repeatable quality.
